Manufacturer Name:
Product Description:
Android Accessibility Suite is a collection of accessibility apps that enable the use of Android devices eyes-free or with a switch device.
Main Features:
- Use a screen reader:
- TalkBack: To interact with a device using touch and spoken feedback, users can turn on the TalkBack screen reader. TalkBack describes actions and sends alerts and notifications.
- Select to Speak: If the users want spoken feedback only at certain times, they can turn on Select to Speak. They can select items on their screen to hear them read or described aloud, or point the camera at something in the real world.
- Change the display:
- Display size and font-size: To change the size of items on the screen, users can adjust the display size or font size.
- Magnification: To temporarily zoom or magnify the screen, the users can use magnification.
- Contrast and color options: To adjust contrast or colors, users can use high-contrast text, color inversion, or color correction.
- Interaction controls:
- Voice Access: Voice Access lets users control their device with spoken commands to open apps, navigate, and edit text hands-free.
- Switch Access: Switch Access lets users interact with their Android device using one or more switches instead of the touchscreen. They can use a switch or keyboard to control their devices.
- Use a braille display:
- BrailleBack: Users can connect a refreshable braille display to their device via Bluetooth. BrailleBack works with TalkBack for a combined speech and braille experience, allowing them to edit text and interact with their device.
- Audio & on-screen text:
- Captions: Users can turn on captions for their device and specify options (language, text, and style) for closed captioning.
- Live Transcribe: Users can use Live Transcribe to capture speech and view it as text.
- Sound Amplifier: Users can use Sound Amplifier with wired headphones to filter, augment, and amplify the sounds in their environment.
- Real-time text (RTT) during calls: Users can use text to communicate during a phone call with RTT.
Primary Specifications:
- If the device is using Android 5 or earlier, future versions of Android Accessibility Suite won't be compatible with it. Users can use version 7.3, but future versions will only be available for devices running Android 6 and later.
