What is it that you are looking for?

Where once the field of assistive technology for information was limited, we now have an embarrassment of riches.  There are now over five thousand available products to make information appliances easier to use.  There are assistive technologies for nearly any imaginable need.  But a list of thousands of options is little more use than no list at all.  Guided Shopping is a tool to help navigate the field of assistive technology.

Where most descriptions of assistive technology are written with a beginning, middle, and end, Guided Shopping has a different approach.  Instead of a path, this tool is written as a bush.  From the main stem, the core of assistive technology, the book describes major areas of accommodation.  The user is invited to select a major area of accommodation.  This will lead to a general discussion of that area of accommodation.  After this general discussion, we will describe the areas of accommodation within this area.  From this discussion, the reader is invited to select a subcategory of accommodations.

This process of describing and subdividing continues throughout the site, until a small enough area of accommodation is reached, where it can be argued that the discussion is about a single thing.

The Unified Listing - Guided Search can help you find a wide range of products and services.
