Product Description:
Dasher is a free information-efficient text-entry interface, driven by natural continuous pointing gestures, that is appropriate for computer users who are unable to use a two-handed keyboard.
Main Features:
- Useful for operating a computer one-handed, by joystick, touchscreen, trackball, or mouse.
- Can be used for operating a computer with zero hands (i.e., by head-mouse or by eyetracker).
- Works on palmtop and wearable computers.
- It is a zooming interface. The user points to where they want to go, and the display zooms in wherever they point.
- The world into which the user is zooming is painted with letters so that any point the user zooms in on corresponds to a piece of text.
- The more the user zooms in, the longer the piece of text the user has written.
- The user chooses what they write by choosing where to zoom.
- The eye-tracking version of Dasher allows an experienced user to write text as fast as normal handwriting - 29 words per minute; using a mouse, experienced users can write at 39 words per minute.
- Can be used to write efficiently in any language.
