The Reading software package is a reading tutorial program suite designed to increase literal and inferential comprehension skills, as well as a variety of other literacy skills.

Main Features: 

• Topics covered:
  • Helpful Reader: The program reads aloud the text like a story or just one word at a time with text-to-speech translation using an intelligible, computer, adult, male voice. 
  • Reading Comprehension and Picture Association: After reading the given story, the user selects pictures that best answer questions about the story.
  • Reading Comprehension for Adolescents or Adults: Targets literal and inferential reading comprehension. Users respond to questions: literal items appear verbatim in a story; inferences are made from its content. When errors are made by the user, the program gives clues. Logical statements are presented to help find answers. 
  • Reading Comprehension Spelling and Vocabulary: Spelling lessons go from identifying the correctly spelled word to spelling a word when 3 letters are provided, to spelling a word when no help is given. The reading lessons go from answering yes-no questions to fill-in-the-blank questions. 
• Level: Mid-High.
