Product Description:
Speakup is a free screen review package that enables users to interact with applications and the GNU/Linux operating system with audible feedback from the console using a synthetic speech device.
Main Features:
- Enables users to navigate around the screen using the typical screen review functions such as say word, say line, announce cursor position, and which console the user currently is on.
- It allows users to load in configuration parameters for controlling various aspects of the synthesizer they are using, as well as Speakup itself.
- Allows users to interact with applications and the GNU/Linux operating system with audible feedback from the console using a synthetic speech device.
Primary Specifications:
- Works with Linux 3.x and 4.x kernels. Older versions supported 2.2.x, 2.4.x, and 2.6.x kernels, though these kernels are no longer under active development.
- Supports the following synthesizers:
- Accent PC/SA.
- the Apollo2.
- Artic Transport.
- Audapter.
- Braille 'N Speak / Type 'N Speak.
- Dectalk External and Express.
- the Dectalk PC internal as a module.
