Product Description:
TalkingTablet are communication apps suitable for people with autism, aphasia, dysarthria, dyspraxia and cerebral palsy. All of the TalkingTablet Communication Aids include voice control which allows the user to have speech on all the time or only at the completion of the statement. Voicing of the symbol statement is available in either a male or female voice with full highlighting of the symbol as the statement is spoken.
Quick Symbols AAC Pro
A wide selection of symbols is provided in a range of categories from which the user can construct a symbol phrase for spoken output.
User Symbol AAC Pro
An app designed for parents or carers to customize the aid for the user. From the wide selection of symbols and range of categories from which the aid can be designed for the user to construct a symbol phrase for spoken output.
Photo Communicator AAC Pro
An app comprised of photo grids consisting of 2,4 or 6 pictures.
Symbol Calendar AAC Pro
An app that provides a day/week/monthly calendar and provides symbols, photos, and text reminders of events, tasks or appointments.
My Speaker AAC Pro
An app that gives the user the ability to create phrases, sentences, statements or just words that are typed into the phrase editing window and spoken.
Main Features:
These features are common to all models:
- Ensure that text to speech is turned on in the Settings menu.
- Select the voice gender from within the selected TTS voice settings.
Quick Symbols AAC Pro includes these additional features:
- A separate category named "Start Words" contains common opening statements such as "I want", "I don't like", "I have" "to go" , as some examples.
- Selecting a symbol from a category displays the symbol and the spoken words in a window at the top of the screen.
- Continuing to add symbols creates the phrase the user wants to have spoken.
- Symbols can be spoken on selection or only on completion of the phrase by touching the phrase window or the speaker button.
- Symbols can be edited to change the spoken and display text to provide user preferences.
- Photos taken with the built-in camera can be used as symbols by editing the photo with suitable text and storing in either the photos category or into any other category. This feature provides the user with a personally tailored version. Such uses can be about their school, where they live or visit, as examples, or just to create a symbol that is not in the library.
- With 32 categories and nearly a thousand symbols, the application provides for a wide range of communication needs.
- A menu button opens a page where users can edit the symbols, categories, photos, and speech settings.
- The Yellow arrow buttons provide movement through the pages of categories and symbols for making the selections.
- The phone/tablet's own back button is used where possible.
User Symbol AAC Pro includes these additional features:
- In providing the selection of symbols under the control of the parent or carer, both the user's age and abilities can be best provided for.
- A separate category named "Start Words" contains common opening statements such as "I want", "I don't like", "I have" "to go" , which can be programmed for the users.
- To ensure that the user is disabled from modifying the selected symbol a password is required to enter the Menu.
- Symbols can be spoken on selection or only on completion of the phrase by touching the phrase window or the speaker button.
- Symbols can be edited to change the spoken and display text to provide user preferences.
- Photos taken with the built-in camera can be used as symbols by editing the photo with suitable text and storing in either the photos category or into any other category. This feature provides the user with a personally tailored version. Such uses can be about their school, where they live or a visit as examples, or just to create a symbol that is not in the library.

Photo Communicator AAC Pro includes these additional features:
- Photos taken with the built-in camera are selected to make up a picture communicator. Selected pictures are given a name and a speech message using a pop-up keyboard. A feature provides for rotation of any photo.
- Initially, select the grid size to display on a page insert pictures that have been taken by the camera which can be viewed and deleted in the picture Gallery.
- The grid pages progress as more and more pictures are added until users have their desired Communicator. Once created the user will, on selecting the Photo Communicator, open on page one, displaying the photos initially selected.
- On touching the photo, the speech message will be spoken.
- To move through the pages use the blue arrow buttons.
- The Menu button provides for photos to be deleted, edited, and additional photos added.
Symbol Calendar AAC Pro includes these additional features:
- The Symbol Communicator automatically tracks the current date and allows the users to move through the months by simply touching the month's name. New entries are added by touching the chosen day which displays pages of symbols and photos. On choosing one of these descriptive symbols, the display changes to allow for entry of the time. After setting the required time, the Symbol Communicator returns to the calendar where the event appears.
- On touching a day event symbol the event will be voiced by name, date and time. Touching the event a second time changes the display from month to week and further entries can be added for the same day. The day becomes highlighted indicating additional day events.
- To use a photo as a symbol simply select the photo symbol and all of the photos in the gallery will be offered.
- A Menu button is provided in the top right corner for deletion of the events and control of Speech.
My Speaker AAC Pro includes these additional features:
- To use the phrase again, press the Spk button on the keyboard.
- On entering the first letter of a new phrase all phrases with the same start word will appear in the stored phrases window, simply scroll up or down with the arrow cursor keys to highlight the phrase and then press the Select key, the text is copied into my phrases and spoken.
- Keyword recognition is included which can find the word within a stored phrase.
- Editing of the typed phrase is achieved with the left and right arrow cursor keys and letter deletion is provided by the DEL key. Double or multiple spaces are not allowed, entering such causes an advisory beep to be given.
- The TalkingTablet MySpeaker is designed to provide a voice for a person who has either lost their voice through some disability or has speech difficulty. It has been used very successfully during initial user trials as a great tool for helping children with learning difficulties in both creating sentences, getting the soundings of words as well as for users with dyslexia in pronunciation of speech.
