Product Description: 

TFA - Tools For Autism is a free Android app that provides a set of tools and communication tables to support people with autism or other pervasive developmental disorders (DPS); it can be used to teach social stories or sequences of operations (task analysis) and has text to speech capabilities.

Main Features: 

  • The app can be used in two different modes, by different types of user: display mode (for the content player) and editor mode (for operators).
  • The display mode allows users to play content created especially for them.
    • The editor mode, allows parents, doctors or operators to create, edit and import (or export) contents.
      • Note: the default password for entering in editing mode is "1234" without quotes.
    • The user or patient mode can use any picture on the device or download (directly from the app) the large ARASAAC pictograms library pre-classified in alphabetical order and by semantic categories from the library containing more than 8500 images.
  • Switching between modes is secured by a password.
  • Install only the modules/plugin that is needed.
  • Different combinations of task visualization modes can be used according to skills and abilities, and user preferences.
  • Every sentence can be created using one of the four layouts: image only, text only, an image before the text, images (1-4) above text.
  • Import and export functions allow to perform backup and restore operations, as well as to share stories between users and or devices.
  • Text To Speech functionality to play a social story and task analysis contents (from V1.3); the language of the speech corresponds to the device language (if available).
