The USB-UIRT is a universal infrared receiver/transmitter (UIRT) designed for use by individuals with mobility or severe physical disabilities that allows any USB-equipped PC to transmit and receive Infrared signals to common audio-visual equipment. It combines the capabilities of other PC-based IR receivers with an IR transmitter, which allows a PC to not only receive codes from existing remote controls but also to control any device with an IR receiver.

- Works with a software package like Girder and NetRemote (not included), Windows automation tools that when combined allow users to automate events (such a pressing the 'play' button on a remote) and send commands (such as turning the Power ON on a VCR).

- Features USB wake-from-standby capability.
- Includes a built-in wideband IR detector for accurate learning, including carrier frequency.
