To switch from an audio recording to a correct transcription, simply and quickly, VoiceTranscribe is divided into four phases:

• automatic transcription (voice to text);
• text correction;
• insertion of punctuation;
• text formatting.

The text transcription is performed simultaneously in two different ways using a speech recognition engine. 

The first is the automatic transcription of the voice and does not take into account punctuation (which does not exist in oral speech, replaced by pause and prosody). The second transcription is created following the natural pauses of the speaker, thus breaking the text in many sentences in correspondence to silences (silence = pause of minimum length that can be set). VoiceTranscribe maintains the exact correspondence between the single phrase and its audio segment, allowing the replay of the original voice at any time. This allows to simplify the subsequent correction of the text.

The correction is made for each single phrase and is facilitated by the replay of the audio segment. The three work windows highlight: the individual sentences, the sentence being corrected and the whole text up to that correct time. The correction is simplified by functions that allow you to edit the text or replace it entirely or delete it and is facilitated by the replay of the original voice. In this phase it is already possible to insert the punctuation following the automatic subdivision of the sentences.

In the third phase, you have the possibility to listen again to the whole text verifying any residual errors and inserting the punctuation based on prosody.

VoiceTranscribe has an automatic formatting system based on inserted punctuation.
