Telephone Handset Amplifier
Many people who have limitations in hearing discover it first when using the telephone. For some of these people, making the sound of the telephone louder is an adequate solution. There are a number of methods of amplifying the sound of a telephone.
- Some phone or some replacement handsets (the part you hold) include amplifiers that increase the volume to the ear.
- Some amplifiers can be attached to a standard handset to amplify the sound coming from the speaker. These have the advantage of being portable.
- In-line amplifiers can be connected between the base and the handset to provide louder output.
- Some handsets or add-on devices provide a direct link between the telephone electronics and a user's hearing aids.
