Magnify
Historically, magnification systems were bulky, consisting of a camera and a television/monitor. Modern systems may still sit on a desktop, making them useful for use in one place, or they may be smaller, and portable. These can be classed in two ways:
- Desktop systems typically have a platform where the material is placed, with an overhead camera. The material is moved back and forth to be read.
- Handheld systems are typically pocket-sized, and are held over the material to be read, very much like a magnifying glass, but with many more features.
