Switch Basics is a control switch training program designed for use by children and adults with severe or multiple disabilities.
Main Features:
- Eight activities give students experiences from cause-and-effect to row-column scanning.
- The SoftTouch Steps to Learning Program gives parents and teachers control over the learning experience.
- The parent or teacher selects the activities and places them in the desired order, selects the number of presses as well as other functions.
- Data collection is used to assess student progress in control of the switch, intentionality, and timing.
- The program is designed to make it fun for students to attend and build switch skills.
- Students learn when to press and release switch, linear scanning skills, row-column scanning skills, social turn-taking skills, and they learn to press switch repeatedly as a precursor to step scanning.
- A variety of music, images, and animation keep the student engaged and motivated.
- Supports three types of two-switch access for building access skills.
