Product Description:
The Twiddler 3 is a pocket-sized mouse pointer and full-function keyboard in a single unit that can be used with either the right or left hand designed for people with mobility issues. It puts all the functions of a keyboard and mouse within the normal range of motion of the user's fingers and thumb.
Main Features:
- It performs all the functions of a standard computer keyboard with 16 keys.
- There are 12 keys on the front of the Twiddler arranged in three columns and four rows.
- Each of the user's fingers is assigned to a specific row of three keys across.
- The Twiddler generates characters by the release rather than the initial press of a key so the user does not have to worry about whether they have pressed all the keys in a chord at exactly the same instant.
- It operates in both a wired and wireless mode.
- In the wired mode, it is attached to a device via a USB cable.
- The USB cable supports both communications from device to Twiddler 3 as well as charging the Twiddler 3.
- In the wireless mode, both keyboard and mouse commands are sent to the device through Bluetooth.
- It is a chordic device. Users hold the device with one hand and press key chords to generate keystrokes.
- Each chord is mapped to a particular key on a standard keyboard. Pressing a certain key combination will cause the Twiddler to send that key to the device. The key assignments are marked on the Twiddler.
- All chords are remappable and customizable and can be more than one character long.
- While one key chord could send out an “a” another key chord could be mapped to type out an email address.
- With proper mapping of common prefixes, words, phrases, and suffixes a substantial increase in typing speed can be realized.
- With practice, average users can type 30-60 words per minute.
- Customization features enable users to type as fast as 260 wpm.
- It can be programmed to type in any language.
- Mouse pointing functions are done through the 8-way Nav Stick.
- Pressing down on the Nav Stick will create a left mouse click event.
- Includes front-facing mouse buttons. Left, middle and right clicks are accomplished by clicking the respective mouse key.
- The compact design minimizes hand movement and strain on the wrists while promoting the use of finger movement.
- Comes with the Twiddler Typing Tutor program.
- Works with any device that supports HID Profile.
