This software series helps students strengthen the visual skills of locating, fixing and tracking static and moving objects. These highly structured programs support the development of skills required to use a touch monitor effectively, beginning at cause-and-effect levels and progressing through the stages of targeting and touching single, multiple, ‘peeping’, scattered and moving prompts onscreen. Additionally, the activities are configurable for use on the interactive whiteboard, a touch monitor or computer and mouse. 

Target and Touch: Patterns

A range of activities with different styles of animated patterns and music rewards - the bright colours contrasting with a black background make them suitable for users with visual difficulties, such as cerebral visual impairment. The different styles and movements of the patterns were designed to provide a wide range of different visual experiences to encourage users to look at the screen.

Target and Touch: Music

Touch screen training activities with a cast of twenty musicians, from classical to fantasy, with a wide selection of music. It offers opportunities for language development and listening skills. Bright characters on a dark background make this program suitable for people with visual and perceptual difficulties. The program introduces some additional touch activities to Target and Touch: Patterns, including an introduction to dragging.

Touch Cats

Touch monitor and mouse users can 'walk' a cat around a scene and then watch it interact with objects of interest. Switch users operate the switch and let the cat choose which object to play with. Touch and switch users can also work together.

Touch Balloons

Use the mouse, touch monitor or switch to target and burst the balloons. Choose a large pointer or a cross-hair to aim.

  • Touch It and Find and Touch It to encourage looking and targeting.
  • Peeping targets introduces a timing element – catch them before they disappear.
  • Scattered targets need a series of presses before giving a reward.
  • Objects in a Line helps to encourage left to right tracking.

Target and Touch: Music includes these additional features:

  • Touch anywhere to see who is playing this time.
  • Touch It and Find It includes a wrapped up instrument - guess what it is before opening the bag to hear it play.
  • Silhouette of the musicians - guess who it is and open the curtains to see if you are right.
  • Peeping musicians – catch them to get a performance.
  • Scattered musicians need a series of presses before giving a reward.
  • Objects in a Line helps to encourage left to right tracking.
  • Touch to Jump and Drag to Target – the musician will not play until they are under the spotlight.

Touch Cats includes these additional features:

  • Five activity-packed locations are included. These are kitchen, living room, garden, child's bedroom and an alleyway. At each location, any or all of the activities can be disabled for touch or mouse users.
  • The cat can still be 'walked' around the scene even with all activities disabled, allowing control to develop without distractions.

    The scenes can be used as a basis for storytelling and to demonstrate and develop language concepts such as 'behind', 'in front of', 'on top of', 'outside', 'inside', etc.

Touch Balloons includes these additional features:

  • A menu allows you to choose direction of travel - up, down, left, right or random, for the greatest level of difficulty. You can also change the speed of travel and the number of balloons.
  • Additional options change the background. You can choose from a range of colours and sky effects or use your own pictures - have the balloons float across a picture of the school.
  • The program has bold or pastel colour choices to allow you to design activities to develop visual and tracking skills.
