Modify Keyboard Behavior
Even when the size and feel of the keyboard are ideal, the response of the keyboard when a key is pressed may hinder device user. The behavior of the keyboard can be changed in several ways, depending on the device.
- Keys may autorepeat and produce a series of letters if held down too long.
- A person may accidentally touch a key when moving over the keyboard. Slow Keys will ignore such brief presses and only respond to deliberate actions.
- A person may have difficulty holding two keys down at the same time, to produce capital letters. Sticky Keys allows the typist to press just one key at a time, and still get capitals.
- A person may have shaky hands causing multiple keypresses when only one is intended. Tremor management software can allow fast typing while managing the effects of tremor.
