Use one to three switches for input
Some people are not able to use any type of conventional keyboard, but may be able to operate one of a range of "ability switches," physical switches that can be connected through special interfaces to communicate with personal devices. These switches can be found in the category for "Clicking" elsewhere in this system. Once the switches are connected to the device, they can be used for general input in two ways:
- The switches can be used in timed patterns, such as those of Morse Code, to general text a letter at a time.
- The computer can offer selections to the user in sequences, and the switches can be used to indicate that the user wants the current selection.
