Access Switches
Access switches allow an individual to use any voluntary action (movement or even muscle testing) to send a signal to the device. In selecting an access switch, it is important to find the one that can be controlled by a some action that the user can do many times per day.
Access swtiches can be categorized in a number of ways:
- What body control point will the person use to operate the switch?
- Does the person have to physically touch the switch to activate it?
- Does the switch connect to the device with a wire, or is it wireless?
